Seeding & Sending: The Final Mission of the End-Time Church
As we approach the final days before the return of Christ,
it has become clear that the mission of the Church is not to maintain tradition
but to equip and deploy disciples for Kingdom work. The modern church has often
become comfortable with attendance and maintenance rather than discipleship and
sending. Jesus did not call us to remain idle but to be actively engaged in
equipping others for the harvest. This is the essence of Seeding &
Sending—raising up leaders and sending them out for the glory of God.
The Biblical Call to Seeding & Sending
The command to disciple, equip, and send is central to
Jesus' mission for His followers. Throughout Scripture, we see the pattern of
raising up leaders and sending them out. · Matthew 28:19-20: “Go therefore and make
disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded
you.” · Luke 10:2: “The harvest is plentiful, but the
laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send
out laborers into his harvest.” · 2 Timothy 2:2: “And what you have heard from me
in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to
teach others also.”
The Failure of Passive Christianity
The modern church has often emphasized attendance, comfort,
and maintaining structures rather than fulfilling the mission of Jesus. This
has led to stagnation and a lack of spiritual growth among believers. Many
Christians attend church without stepping into their function within the Body
of Christ. This is not the way Jesus designed His Church. · Galatians 6:9: “And let us not grow weary of
doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
If we do not engage in Seeding & Sending, we risk
falling into the trap of passive faith—where the church exists only as a place
of gathering rather than a mission-sending force.
The Jesus Model of Leadership Multiplication
Jesus did not build an institution; He built disciples. He
equipped twelve men, teaching them how to lead and send others. He modeled a
system of continual growth by raising up new leaders and sending them into
mission. · Matthew 10:1: “And He called to Him His twelve
disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and
to heal every disease and every affliction.” · John 17:18: “As You sent Me into the world, so I
have sent them into the world.”
Jesus did not focus on gathering crowds but on raising up
leaders. He trained them, empowered them, and then sent them out to continue
the work.
The Call to Action – Implementing Seeding & Sending
If the Church is to fulfill its mission in these final days,
it must shift from maintenance to mobilization. Leaders must be actively
looking for and training their replacements. Every believer must see their role
as part of a greater mission. · Proverbs 27:23: “Know well the condition of your
flocks, and give attention to your herds.”
Pastors and church leaders must create pathways for
discipleship and leadership development. Small groups must become training
grounds for future leaders. Churches must focus on sending, not just gathering.
Final Charge
The
time is now. If we are not equipping and sending, we are failing the mission.
The Jesus Model requires leaders to disciple, train, and release the next
generation. Seeding & Sending is the
final work of the Church before the
return of Christ. The question remains—will we be faithful to the mission, or
will we remain stagnant?
